Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2, is a great place to sample some of Malaysia’s must-eats, including Nasi Lemak. Arguably the nation’s most celebrated dish, Nasi Lemak is a medley of fragrant coconut rice, sweet n’ spicy sambal sauce, some sort of protein (usually chicken and always delicious), peanuts, anchovies, cucumbers and a boiled egg – all served on a plate, underlined with a large banana leaf - or sometimes wrapped in one! This is the most traditional recipe, but there are also other versions that are worth digging into.



Not a meat eater? Not to worry! Malaysian cuisine has plenty of great vegetarian options, including Roti Canai. Made with flour, water, a little salt and sugar and the all-important Ghee (clarified butter), the dough is kneaded and stretched until it's very thin, then rolled or folded many times over and pan-fried.  It’s similar to the Indian flatbread – parotta/paratha, but has its own distinct flavour and texture. We love eating this flaky, buttery bread with dhal (lentil curry), but it’s also delicious with other types of curries and sauces.



You can find these signature dishes, as well as other Malaysian favourites, at restaurants around the airport. If you want to enjoy them in maximum comfort, we recommend heading over to Plaza Premium Lounge, which is located right next to Aerotel.
